The Grand Palace is a series of buildings serving as the official residence of the King of Thailand from the 18th Century until the mid 20th Century. Located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya river, the palace area contains a number of great halls and palaces, topped by the “Great Holy Hall of Chakri”, normally referred to as the grand palace. British architects, blending traditional architecture with Italian renaissance style, built this triple winged palace in 1882.
