| (The Golden Mount) Wat Sakets major feature is the Golden mount, an artificial hill dating back to the 1800’s. A gilded pagoda that sparkles in the sunlight and houses relics of Lord Buddha tops the hill. From the Pagoda, a panoramic view of old Bangkok is offered, with temples, bridges, dwellings and the royal palace all within sight. As such, Wat Saket offers a unique vantage point for this part of Bangkok.
The temple is located at the old city border and part of the old city wall is still there. |
