Moving away from the traditional centre of Bangkok, Ramkhamhaeng is one of these separate centre areas of which Bangkok has so many. Located in proximity of ABAC and Ramkhamhaeng universities, and with the many university students that this entails, the Ramkhamhaeng offers quite a few night spots designed specifically with this segment in mind. There are also a number of restaurants around, mainly of the strictly local variant.

Ramkhamhaeng is home to a market featuring mainly textiles, which sells at very competitive prices. It is not uncommon for people from other parts of town to go there strictly for this alone. It also has the normal Bangkok shopping complexes of Central and The Mall Department Store available for those needing to satisfy that urge, but nothing extraordinary there.

Overall Ramkhamhaeng is another little city within the city, its own little area with everything you would need. There is no overarching reason to go there, but once you are there, there is plenty to do, food to eat and bars to visit.
