A modern setup of glass windows onto cool soi Lang Suan reveals Italian restaurant Calderazzo to the world. In the spacious modern interior, the tables are placed is separate areas split over two levels. It is a cool, modern place to taste some tasty Italian cuisine – for less perfect for a more private dinner, due to the same windows that help bring the spirit of Lang Suan along to the table.
And the food here is certainly tasty! It is the result of Marco Calderazzo, and the wine and produce reflects his mixed Australian/Italian heritage. From the starters like the carpacio of thinly sliced Australian beef with shaved parmigiano, over the numerous fresh pasta and risotto dishes as well as meat and fish, the food here is very good. For desert, of special note is the lemoncella, a baked lemon tart and creamy panna cotta. An alternative for those with a less sweet tooth would be the choice of seven Italian cheeses paired with wines.
Calderazzo offers a fairly extensive wine list which includes some affordable Italian, Australian and New Zealand wines. The price for two people without the wine easily approach 2.500 Baht.

For good Italian food just down the road, try Ma Be Ba which also features live music. For the more cool look, consider Pomodoro on Sukhumvit road or the more Thai-Italian Fusion oriented Paparazzi in soi Ruam Rundee. A bit further afield, Six Degrees in soi Convent or Fuzio in soi Ekamai also offers excellent alternatives.
