| This Italian trattoria is located on Sukumvit soi 11, just down behind Contrazi and the Old German Beer House. Inside, centre stage is taken by the wood-fired pizza oven that is also the source of some of the local specialities. Around it, chefs can be seen tossing the pizza dough to perfection in the true Italian fashion. Around this centre and on two levels, tables covered in white and tallow table cloths provides an intimate yet cozy setting for good Italian dining. Limoncello offers a good Italian menu, however the true stars of the show are the around fifty pizzas and calzones on offer. Among the favorites is the pizza Zanotti, a blend of tomato, mozzarella, mascarpone cheese and imported parma ham, all choices are excellent. Deserts include the classic tiramisu and more, or the namesake Limoncello the restaurant is named after. Along with the dinner, Limoncello offers around 50 different mainly Italian wines, priced around one to three thousand baht per bottle, with dinner for two without the wine easily reaching 1.600 Baht. Finding alternatives to Limoncello is not hard in this soi of Italian restaurant. Basically, to reach Limoncello you have to pass by Contrazi in the first place, while farther down the soi you find elegant Venezia Ristorante and homey La Piola, both serving excellent food. Another good alternative is nearby Rossini's at the Sheraton Grande Sukumvit. | |
