| Walking into the parking area behind the Mini dealer on Thong Lor, a sign and a valet identifies this as the entrance to Fuzio Italian restaurant. From here an elevator leads to the restaurant on the 6th floor of the building. Stepping out of the elevator, the first thing that greets you is the outdoor wine lounge, perfect for both a pre-dinner drink and an after dinner wine or cocktail. Continuing into the restaurant, a custom made glass wine cellar appears on your right, giving you an instant overview of the many wines available here. On the right is a big window into the kitchen, allowing you to follow the preparation of the food. The restaurant offers very cozy booth and table seating in a cozy yet very chic restaurant interior. With a great view of the Ekamai skyline outside and the contemporary cool look inside, the restaurant is definitely pleasing on the senses. The menu itself offers a culinary tour of Italian flavor in an International ingredient driven menu based on the rich culinary history and creativity of the restaurants executive chef. It is a wide menu with many excellent choices whatever your Italian desire might be. There is also a good wine menu to complement the great food on offer, which ensures a terrific cool yet fine dining experience to be had by all. For the less well heeled, or those not available for dinner, Fuzio also offers an excellent lunch special for only 390++. This includes a free anti pasta buffett, a soup, main course, desert and coffee or tea. Better value is hardly available anywhere. Dinner here is not cheap, with two people easily running at around 3.000 baht. Italian alternatives in the area include Beccofino and La Villa / Club Nove Wine Lounge whom also both offer excellent value lunches, as well as dinner. However, for an Italian restaurant with a view like this, one would have to go all the way to Mezzaluna at State Tower on Silom Road to find any competition. | |
