Welcome to the probably most cosmopolitan area in Bangkok, which alongside still offers great variety and even the famous Patpong nightlife area. Overall, the area offers some of the trendiest upper class establishments in the city, including trendy Met bar and the amazing and quite simply world class bars and restaurants of Vertigo and Sirocco, along with numerous other venues.

This is quite simply where the majority of the most luxurious restaurants in Bangkok are located. Numerous other trendy bars intermingle with gay bars in Silom soi 4, while just down the street is found famous patpong, with its special offers, entertainment and gogo bars. Patpong also contains a giant night market that spills into Silom and offers everything from jeans and DVD's to crossbows. The Silom / Sathorn area is also home to the capitals business and financial districts, the most famous hotels (like the fabled Oriental Hotel), and numerous absolutely world class restaurants. Notice also, that the nightlife is often more bar/restaurant oriented than pure full-power night clubbing. This is a more mature scene, if not crowd.
