Shopping and Relaxation in Bangkok
For a relaxed few days in Bangkok, where you focus on the true pleasures of life - plenty of Shopping, relaxing and enjoying some good food and drinks - try out this customized itinerary.
Day 1
Morning: Start out slowly. Have some Breakfast and enjoy a Thai massage, maybe a bit off pool time. Then have a nice lunch.
Afternoon: In the afternoon, head off to Pratunam Market, Bangkok's main market for cheap clothing, which offers countless opportunities for getting a bargain. Also in the area is The Platinum Fashion Mall, another good bargain spot, and Panthip Plaza which offers excellent deals in electronics, especially software and DVD movies.
Evening: In the evening, it is time for Dinner - maybe Italian excellent Italian food at Zanotti or Thai at Celadon. Silom Village would be an alternative, offering less pricey Thai cuisine centrally in Silom Road. After dinner, have a drink at Sky Bar and enjoy the view. Sky Bar is a must-visit location for its view and ambiance - should not be missed. Where to go from there depends on your mood - this website has plenty of options available. Just use our search feature
Day 2
Morning: Head off to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, two of Bangkok's main tourist attractions and both well worth a visit. From there, take a riverboat to Oriental Hotel (or a nearby pier) for lunch. The Oriental Hotel is of course the luxurious option but there are plenty of other options available nearby.
Afternoon: This is kept open. You are near the Skytrain so anything is possible. One suggestion could be a visit to one of the many amazing spas in Bangkok. They offer truly divine treatments.
Evening: Dinner. Potentially a dinner with classic Thai dance like at Sala Rim Naam. An excellent cultural and gastronomical experience.
Day 3
All Day Off to Chatuchak Market (only open on weekends). Spend some time browsing the thousands of sellers. After a hot day there, some time at the hotel or maybe a massage and in the evening a dinner cruise. There are tons of companies offering dinner cruises, the best going from the best hotels. If budget permits, the cruises can also be done as full day excursions with sightseeing included. A great way to spend a day.
Day 4
Day Time: The Siam Square malls, most notable Siam Paragon which offers everything in brands including an in-store Ferrari dealership. They also have a huge aquarium with a glass walk-through tunnel and the opportunity to actually jump in and go swimming with the sharks. Across the square, MBK offers a cheaper option with excellent bargains to be had, especially in clothes and shoes, phones and potentially furniture. All day shopping and maybe some swimming in the aquarium - it is quite something.
Evening: Dinner to impress. Potentially at Vertigo, but many other options listed at this site, depending on budget.
That should give a few ideas. If you fancy one day of sightseeing outside of Bangkok - River Kwai, The old Capital or other - the schedule can easily be re-arranged accordingly
